GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms has announced the Telum GE-QLX/QSX gigabit ethernet AdvancedMC.

Designed for any telecommunications, enterprise or military/aerospace application using an AdvancedTCA or MicroTCA platform with a requirement for additional ethernet links and fibre media, the GE-QLX offers 2- or 4-port 1000BaseLX gigabit ethernet support while the GE-QSX offers 2- or 4-port 1000BaseSX gigabit ethernet support.

Gigabit ethernet modules are high-density, low-cost network interface cards that expand ATCA or MicroTCA network connectivity. The family now offers support for 10/100/1000BaseT, 1000BaseSX or 1000BaseLX.

The modules implement an x4 PCI Express bus and include TCP CRC and segmentation offloading to reduce CPU use.

Good security is possible through using up to 4096 integral VLANs, which allow not only traffic segregation but also the addition of QoS tags to packets for prioritisation, while maximum reliability and uptime is delivered through support for an IPMI v1.5-compliant module management controller subsystem.

Both hot-swappable, field-replaceable modules feature single width AMC.0 form factor, conform to the AMC.1 specification and are available with either mid-size or full-size front panels.
