SCHURTER FMBC EP double-stage, three-phase mains filter

The SCHURTER FMBC EP double-stage filter family for three-phase systems is suitable for the tight space conditions in today’s machine and industrial plant construction. Due to versions with high nominal voltages, a wide range of applications is possible.

Space is scarce in control cabinets for industrial applications in the three-phase range. SCHURTER has addressed this problem with complete filter redesign that is much more compact than previous generations; the almost-cuboidal design makes optimum use of the space in the housing. The FMBC EP models are thus suitable replacements for all types of SCHURTER FMBC and FMBC NEO filters, offering identical performance with reduced dimensions and weight.

With a double-stage filter and the use of high-quality components like film capacitors and chokes with highly permeable cores, the product offers good broadband filter attenuation. The filters feature screw terminals for safe wiring and the metal flange provides good earth connection when screwed to the chassis.

The standard types can be used over a wide temperature range from -40 to 100°C and are designed for currents from 16 to 230 A at an ambient temperature of 50°C. They have both ENEC and cURus approval and are recommended for applications up to 520 or even 760 VAC. The standard versions are designed for industrial applications with leakage currents <4 mA, while special variants with leakage currents <1 mA are available for leakage current critical applications.

The double-stage filter family is appropriate for applications with particularly high EMC emissions frequently encountered in the industry. Typical applications include machines and systems for automatic production, motor drives and industrial plant machinery. The powerful filters are also suitable for modern frequency inverters for motor control.
