OKW Synergy combined plastic/aluminium enclosures

OKW has launched its Synergy electronic enclosures range, featuring both plastic and aluminium for added strength and versatility. The range of 36 individual enclosures features a high-quality surface finish.

The elegant design is suitable for modern, high-value handheld, desktop and wall-mounted electronics equipment. Applications include medical and therapeutic systems, measurement and control technology, home automation, peripherals, building services electronics and more.

The range features the company’s fast-connect system, based around four internal assembly pillars which hold each section of the enclosure together. The glass-reinforced polyamide pillars snap into the recessed top panel, lock in the assembly extrusion and are fixed to the bottom part with four stainless steel Torx T10 anti-tamper screws.

The main body section of each case is extruded from AlMgSi 0.5 aluminium. It is blasted with glass beads and anodised in silver (or black on request) to create a high-quality finish. The top and base sections are manufactured from UV-resistant ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0). They are black as standard but custom colours can be specified. PCBs can be mounted in the top and bottom for maximum versatility and efficient use of space.

The enclosures are available in square, rectangular, oval and round profiles. Square models are offered in sizes 100 x 100, 120 x 120 and 140 x 140 mm. Rectangular models are offered in sizes 160 x 80, 180 x 90 and 200 x 100 mm. Oval models are offered in sizes 160 x 80, 180 x 90 and 200 x 100 mm. Round models are offered in diameters 100, 120 and 140 mm. All versions are available in heights of 40, 70 and 100 mm.

Options and accessories include battery compartments for three or four 1.5 V AA cells, an extender kit for the PCB pillars and a wall suspension kit. Customisation services include CNC milling and drilling, printing or engraving of legends and logos, special finishes, keypads and assembly.
