ElectroneX event a success

This year’s electronics design and assembly expo, ElectroneX, was a tremendous success, attracting over 1200 trade visitors and delegates from across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

The expo that alternates annually between Sydney and Melbourne featured 90 exhibitors this year.

Contract manufacturers reported high interest levels with several commenting that they are seeing a number of manufacturers moving their production back onshore as a number had been experiencing some quality control issues with offshore facilities. Test and measurement companies also reported strong interest with many businesses featuring new products at the show.

“We were delighted with the visitor attendance and support from the industry for this specialised industry event. The industry has obviously been going through some major changes with larger companies moving their manufacturing facilities offshore and local suppliers have had to adapt and look at new sources of business. Speaking to companies on the floor, it was evident that some are doing very well whilst others are finding it difficult to adjust to the changing market conditions in Australia. It was encouraging to see a strong visitor attendance at the show and there is no doubt that companies that invested in getting face to face with potential buyers will benefit from the new contacts and business opportunities that were created at the expo,” said Noel Gray, managing director of show organiser Australasian Exhibitions and Events.

Next year, ElectroneX will be held at the Melbourne Park Function Centre in September. For details on exhibiting, contact AEE on 03 9676 2133 or email info@auexhibitions.com.au.
