TAITRONICS set to open

The 35th Taipei International Electronics Show (TAITRONICS) and the 3rd Taiwan International RFID Applications Show (Taiwan RFID), jointly hosted by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA), will unfold from 8-11 October 2009 at TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall.

The exhibition highlights key electronic components, manufacturing and testing equipment, LED and lighting, wires and cables, and safety and security monitoring equipments produced by Taiwan suppliers.

Following the rapid growth of the LED market, the exhibition is taking a step further from last year’s LED and Lighting Exhibit Area. Industrial Technology Research Institute - Energy and Environment Research Laboratories of Taiwan will organise the 2009 APEC LED Lighting Forum and the APEC LED Exhibit Area, not only to demonstrate the forefront of industry developments but also to meet the interests of professionals worldwide.

In addition, the Renewable Energy Exhibit Area will showcase the trends in environmental protection and energy conservation.

Exhibitors such as PLT, which specialises in connectors, precision moulds and wire distribution equipments, is introducing new waterproof connector and coupling systems suitable for electromechanical, power supply control, optical cable, aerospace communications and military applications.

Testing equipment and instrument company GWInstek has passed certification and been selected by the US Navy to adopt its GDS 1000 oscilloscope as training equipment.

CCD monitoring and video system manufacturer, Mintron’s 14-bit dual channel 1:1,000,000 contrast super-wide dynamic video camera will also be featured.

Exhibitors include high-precision card reader and RFID smart card manufacturer Asia Smart Tag, RFID packaging equipment supplier Highlight Tech and the Industrial Technology Research Institute’s Identification and Security Technology Centre and are all taking part in Taiwan RFID for the third consecutive year.

Ming Tai Screen Printing, a printing equipment company with 20 years' experience that produces RFID tags, readers, antennas and software systems under the brand name Skyhill, and RFID system manufacturer Champtek, a manufacturer of tag readers, active RFID tags, active smart repeaters and smart real-time positioning systems,  will be exhibiting.

There will be a variety of events, including the ‘Foreign Trade Online: How to Boost International Sales Using the Internet’ seminar with eBay and the ‘Electronic Sensor Technology’ forum. The 'Taiwan RFID' forum will bring guest speakers from Impinj (USA), NXP (Netherlands) and China Information Industry Trade Association, China Association for Standardisation, Shanghai Zhangjiang RFID Co, Korean Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) and other RFID manufacturers and industry associations.

An array of new product announcements will focus on green IT, electronics components, security monitoring, RFID, metering/electro-mechanical products and LED and lighting. Exhibitors will use the exhibition to display their latest products and catch up with the electronics industry revival in the second half of the year.

TAITRONICS and Taiwan RFID will be accompanied by Taiwan International Photovoltaic Forum and Exhibition (7-9 October 2009 at the TWTC Exhibition Hall 1).

The show also features the China Pavilion, a 22,680 m2 display area with more than 800 exhibitors.

‘Chaiwan’ - the new terminology initiated by South Korea, meaning the collaboration of China and Taiwan, will provide an opportunity for partnership between the two sides. The combination of China’s production capability and Taiwan’s quality control and R&D offers worldwide buyers significant product variety.
