Taitronics, one of Asia’s biggest electronics show, has kicked off in Taipei. The conference features over 500 exhibitors with 1200 booths. Over 30 new products will be launched at the show.

What’s New in Electronics is on the ground covering the show, at the invitation of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

The theme of this year’s show is ‘Green Electronic, Smart Living’, reflecting the emphasis on sustainable development and the growing role of electronics in everyday life. The show features four major themes - Internet of Things, broadband services, household appliances, cloud and big data - to showcase the future of smart living. The exhibition showcases a range of electronic products including batteries, power supplies, test and measurement devices, LED components, security and consumer electronic devices.

TAITRA has organised a number of procurement meetings for the participating companies. The council has invited 55 important buyers from 24 countries, including Indigo Music and Books Inc from the US, Motorola Solutions Singapore PTE, Tercom Telematics S.A. from Brazil and Turkcell Iletisim A.S. from Turkey. In addition, major procurement groups from Switzerland, Chile, Mexico and China are anticipated to bring unlimited business opportunities during the show.

The council has also invited Andreas Bohnhoff, business development manager, European Recycling Platform (ERP), to talk about the EPEAT certification process. The forum will also feature  Juu-En Chang , the former minister of Environmental Protection Administration, and Tzershin Wu, the product marketing manager of Sabic Innovative Plastic Pacific. They will analyse international regulations and environmental standards from both the industrial and academic perspective and offer their insights on industrial trends.
