Diodes has introduced the first in a series of high-voltage super barrier rectifiers packaged in the PowerDI5.

The good thermal resistance of the package enables the SBR10U200P5 to deliver twice the power density from a PCB footprint that is 40% smaller.

The device is claimed to be the smallest leaded 10 A rectifier rated up to 200 V, It delivers a low forward voltage drop (VF) of 0.7 at 10 A rated current at a junction temperature of 125°C.

The device’s package structure enables higher power dissipation and surge capabilities in a compact, low-profile package.

This results in a maximum rated junction temperature Tj of 175 °C and an avalanche rating of about 50% greater than that offered by a Schottky diode.

The rectifier facilitates snubber circuits to be removed from power supply outputs.
