The EM Test model DPA 500 is a fully compliant analyser for harmonics and flicker and meets the latest IEC/EN 61000-3-2 and IEC/EN 61000-3-3 requirements. It also follows the design specifications of IEC/EN 61000-4-7:2002 (for Class A instruments) and IEC/EN 61000-4-15:2003.

Based on a real-time kernel and equipped with its own hard disk it allows recording measured data continuously without any gaps or overlapping. The rectangular measurement window is synthesised to each group of 10 or 12 cycles of the mains supply frequency (50 or 60 Hz) using the digital PLL (phase lock loop).

A wide current input range (up to 50 A) avoids loss of measured data due to range switching.

The classification of the measurement can be selected at any time, before or after the measurement has been performed. During all measurements the AC supply voltage is measured simultaneously with the current.

The built-in flicker impedance, which is automatically selected when carrying out flicker measurement, makes the instrument a single-box unit for both harmonics and flicker analysis.

The current range of DPA500 can be extended up to 140 A and more by means of an optional external current clamp.

The ISMDPA control and analysing software for harmonics and flicker measurement is the software tool needed for operating the device. ISMDPA offers all the features to control DPA 500, to upload the recorded measuring data and for classification and analysis.

It includes analysis following the latest standards as well as procedures following the former standards.

Two models are available for harmonics and flicker for single-phase and three-phase applications. The three-phase analyser DPA503 can also be used for single-phase analysis.
