Vibration signal conditioner

Bestech Australia has released the model 5005 vibration signal conditioner, from VIP Sensors.

It is a three-channel, low-noise conditioner that accepts three channels of piezoelectric, piezoelectric with integral electronics (IEPE) or voltage transducer types.

The input signals are processed through low-noise amplifiers with programmable gains for different sensitivities and full-scale settings.

The low pass and high pass filters with programmable corners suppress spurious signals. The conditioner can also read the Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS) provided by an IEPE transducer that is compliant with IEEE 1451.4.

The input ranges are ±106 pC for charge and ±10 V for voltage. The IEPE input compliance voltage is 24 and constant current excitation is at 2 mA. The device has a bandwidth of 100 kHz.

Output is in ±10 V form at 5 mA. Accuracy is ±1% for acceleration and ±3% for velocity and displacement, while noise is below 5 µV. A double integration stage allows the output voltage to be proportional to acceleration, velocity or displacement.

Transducer output data is displayed on the 6-bit front panel LED display and can also be controlled via the RS-232 communication interface using a computer and VIP5005 control software.
