Wavecom Q52 Omni Wireless CPU

M2M Connectivity features the Wavecom Q52 Omni Wireless CPU which, according to the company, is the world’s first cellular-satellite hybrid module integrating GSM/GPRS, ORBCOMM and GPS.

The Wavecom Q52 offers unprecedented integration by embedding control of all three technologies on a single processor. Applications can be developed, embedded and executed directly on the device using the powerful, built-in ARM9 processor and Wavecom’s Open AT Software.

Created for remote monitoring and control of assets anywhere in the world, the Q52 Omni Wireless CPU offers cost-effective global coverage and capability of enduring harsh environmental conditions.

The satellite module on the Q52 provides connectivity to Orbcomm’s two-way satellite network for M2M applications. To further enhance the solution, Mach Communications is providing bundled tariff plans for the GSM and Orbcomm services.

The developer kits are available now.
