Comtest has added AS/NZS 3100 - Approval and test specification - general requirements for electrical equipment to its accreditation list.

While the company has been accredited for AS/NZS 60335.1 and able to produce NATA endorsed reports for products which do not have an appropriate part 2 for AS/NZS 60335, it has been recognised with the changes in technology that AS/NZS 60335 has not always been the most appropriate standard.

Devices which were considered IT in the past and could have been covered by AS/NZS 60950.1 have evolved and AS/NZS 60950.1 is also not the most appropriate standard.

The company has been testing products to AS/NZS 3100 for several years but the technology changes have forced some of the newer types of equipment to also need an Electrical Authority Approval, which requires the test report to be endorsed.
