Avalue’s ERS-AT270-A2 fanless rugged embedded system

Backplane Systems has released Avalue’s ERS-AT270-A2 fanless rugged embedded system that is suitable for use in intelligent transportation systems such as a Gateway Control System.

The system is powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor with an Intel 945GSE + ICH7-M chipset, which features low power consumption and is energy efficient. With the variety of I/O interfaces, it is supplied with 1x VGA, 1x LVDS, 1x SATA, 12x COM, 4x USB, 1x LPT, 2x PS/2, 1x CF and external 16-bit GPIO.

The system is embedded with a scalable EPIC computer with six sets of COM ports by EPI-945GSE and six sets of COM ports by LPC-Module, allowing users to connect different devices as required.

Using the industry-grade Phoenix Type DC power jack connectors, a stable 9-32 V wide voltage input is supported. The anti-interference capability protects the computer from overload short circuits, so the computer can be run safely over a long period.

It features an easy-to-upgrade set of service windows on the bottom cover for maintenance purposes. Through this window users can change the hard drive and memory directly.
