China becomes major "chip" centre
Rob Westerhof, Chief Executive of Philips Electronics China Group, says Hong Kong is going to benefit as China becomes the world's semiconductor centre.
By consolidating the group's regional operations in Hong Kong by August 2002, Mr. Westerhof says there will be substantially cost savings in the region of US$15-20 million a year.
