Quatech’s ExpressCard Performance series provides enhanced serial and parallel ports that are connected directly to the host system’s PCI-Express bus.
The controllers support a single PCI-Express lane operating at up to 2.5 Gbps data rate. In addition, a PCI-Express-based design can directly use I/O address space and interrupts to more closely emulate traditional built-in ports than can be done via USB-based design.
Available models include the SPPXP-100 parallel port card, the SSPXP-100 and DSPXP-100 one- and two-port RS232 serial cards and the SSPXP-200/300 and DSPXP-200/300 one- and two-port RS422/485 cards.
The range supports data rate speeds of up to 921.6 Kbps. The serial design offers flexibility with deeper FIFOs, auto half-duplexing transmit control on RS422/485 cards and full compatibility with all Windows COM port settings.
The parallel port SPPXP-100 supports both ECP and EPP modes and uses the standard Windows parallel port driver for compatibility. While the Quatech parallel and serial ExpressCards are I/O addressable, legacy DOS addresses are not supported.
All the cards are RoHS compliant and support Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003 and Vista.
