Hirschmann Octopus fast ethernet switch range

Belden has extended its Octopus range in the Hirschmann product series to include an unmanaged fast ethernet switch.

The robust unmanaged 10-port device supports automation protocols such as Profinet, EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP. It possesses 10 twisted-pair ports (10/100 BASE-TX) with vibration-proof M12 connections with D-coding.

The unit’s additional features include a robust, fireproof, die-cast housing, protection class IP54 and a temperature range from -40 to +70°C.

The switch also complies with all relevant industry standards and is approved for use in road and rail vehicles and ships. This makes it suitable for use in small-scale networks in transport, manufacturing and process automation where management functions are not required.

The switch, which boasts a MTBF rating of 30 years, can be quickly taken into use on the plug-and-play principle. On the front of the unit are LEDs that display both status and network status as well as a functioning power supply. The fanless design and redundant 24 V power supply guarantee high operational safety.
