ICP Electronics Australia has released its first Transmeta Crusoe embedded board, the Wafer-6820.

Featuring low power consumption, the dimensions of a 3.5" disk drive footprint, higher-bandwidth bus and full x86 compatibility, it allows the system to run cooler with a longer battery life.

The Wafer-6820 is embedded with a Transmeta Crusoe TM3200 400 MHz processor, TM3200/VT82C68A system chipset, CHIPS 69000 LCD/CRT VGA video controller with 2 MB onboard memory and features a Realteck RTL 8139C 10/100 Mbps ethernet chip onboard.

It is designed to support two USB ports, one RS-232, one RS-232/422/485, one parallel port and one IRDA port.

The Wafer-6820 also provides one Compactflash type II socket, one SDRAM 144-pin SODIMM socket and a PC/104 expansion connector for add-on cards.
