Spectra Defense Technologies G2 Ultra Rugged microNAS

Spectra Defense Technologies’ G2 Ultra Rugged microNAS is a compact network attached storage (NAS) system designed to support high-bandwidth sensor data capture and removable mission storage workflows across airborne, maritime, land and autonomous platforms. The system enables simultaneous ingest from multiple sensors within a single rugged enclosure, supporting next-generation intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and autonomy architectures.

Modern deployed platforms increasingly rely on multiple high-speed sensor streams. However, legacy architectures often require additional switching hardware to manage these data sources. The G2 addresses this challenge by integrating four 10 GbE connections directly into a fully rugged system, allowing simultaneous capture of multiple sensor streams while simplifying system design and reducing integration complexity.

Designed for operation in demanding environments, the G2 Ultra Rugged microNAS features IP66 and IP67 ingress protection and supports removable NVMe storage modules up to 16 TB, enabling rapid mission data offload between deployments. The platform also supports multi-layer full-disk encryption options aligned with Coalition cybersecurity requirements.

The system is suited to a range of SWaP-constrained applications including: unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs); autonomous ground vehicles; tracked vehicles and optionally manned platforms; ground radar and air defence systems; and distributed intelligence nodes and sensor platforms.

The G2 Ultra Rugged microNAS is now available to customers in Australia and New Zealand from Metromatics, which can provide local engineering support and integration guidance for defence, autonomy and instrumentation applications.
