The Network Technologies XTENDEX ST-2FOHDMI-SC50 optical-fibre HDMI extender can extend HDMI signals up to 300 m using two-stranded multimode SC fibre-optic cables. Two extenders can be cascaded to reach up to 600 m.

Each extender consists of a transmitter that connects to a computer or HDMI source and a receiver that connects to a HDMI monitor. It supports computer display resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 pixels and HDTV resolutions up to 1080p.

Supported HDMI features include Deep Colour, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital and DTS. The product is HDCP1.1 and HDMI 1.3b compliant and supports the DDC2B protocol. It provides bandwidth up to 7.8 Gbps, enabling the transmission of high-quality HDMI signals.

Because the HDMI signals are transmitted using laser light, the extender is resistant to interference from electrical noise. It also does not produce any radio-frequency interference. This makes the product suitable for industrial environments or applications that are sensitive to RFI/EMI radiation.
