The Omnetics nano series of circular connectors is available in a breakaway configuration. The devices are said to be the smallest Mil-Quality circulars available and can withstand high shock and vibrations while maintaining their electrical integrity. The breakaway feature is suitable for applications where size and ruggedness are needed.

Designed with an extra retention spring, these connectors are engineered to release (breakaway) at a predetermined force.

The devices are also available with added waterproof sealing up to IP68 for the mated pair. Hermetically sealed panel mounts are also possible, using a proprietary ceramic seal.

The multi-position connectors are available in sizes from 2-28 ways with four sizes as standard and have contacts arranged on a 0.64 mm pitch. The standard sizes are 6-, 11-, 16- and 28-pin and the small OD of the plug offers space savings to the design engineer. The OD of the six-way is 6.2 mm, the 11-way is 6.7 mm, the 16-way is 8.2 mm and the 28-way is 9 mm.
