GET Engineering MIL-STD-1397C converter systems

Wednesday, 05 October, 2011 | Supplied by: Unitronix Pty Ltd

Converter systems from GET Engineering transform MIL-STD-1397C parallel and serial data to standard TCP/IP ethernet protocol, effectively turning NTDS equipment into TCP/IP devices that meet NTDS latency standards.

This means that any device can be accessed through a standard GB ethernet port and it extends the limited NTDS distance, over legacy copper cables, and allows secure (non-EMI) connections.

The converters integrate legacy UYK tactical data processors and peripheral equipment into the Net Centric ‘Open Architecture’ standard.

Hardware configurations are offered in various rugged enclosures and rack mounted 4U chassis.

Key hardware and maintenance features include manual or software configuration, with field-programmable firmware and extensive built-in test options, including loop back through NTDS interface with LEDs to monitor interface activity.

Options include CAT-5 wire (copper) or fibre optic output, short circuit protection and tri-state capability on NTDS circuits available in one to 16 channel configurations, including a ‘backshell’ option and hot-swappable components in the 16-channel version.
