The DGE 550T is a 32/64 bit PCI 100/1000 Mbps Nway gigabit LAN adapter designed for bandwidth intensive areas such as network servers, workstations and storage area networks, and enables users to run applications at rapid speeds. It provides dedicated bandwidth capacity for power servers directly attached to gigabit switches.
The adapter is an alternative to fibre optic gigabit and enables users to upgrade departmental servers to gigabit capacity without having to install fibre optic cables. The DGE-550T delivers data transfer rates of up to 2000 Mbps in full duplex mode. Priority queues ensure network packets are delivered by allowing servers to run VoIP telephony, videoconference and other multimedia applications where traffic is queued as critical and non-critical.
The adapter also provides a high level of security and is protected against possible data loss during transmission on the network with IEEE 802.3x flow control support.
