Maxim Integrated Products MAX14840E/MAX14841E RS485 transceivers
Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAX14840E/MAX14841E, high-speed (40 Mbps), half-duplex RS485 transceivers for industrial applications with long cable runs.
The 14840E has symmetrical fail-safe receiver inputs and high (170 mV) receiver hysteresis to improve noise rejection and signal recovery in high-speed and long-cable applications. The 14841E has true fail-safe receiver inputs that guarantee a logic-high receiver output when inputs are shorted or open.
These features, make them suitable for harsh motor-control environments.
The devices operate from a 3.3 voltage and feature ESD structures of ±35 kV, human body model, and are fully specified over the -40 to +125°C motor vehicle temperature range.
Both are available in standard 8-pin SO and 3 x 3 mm, 8-pin TDFN packages.
