Phihong has introduced a 33.6 W single-port Power-over-Ethernet adapter that meets power specifications released in draft 3.0 of the IEEE 802.3at that was approved for ballot at the end of March.

Designated the POE36U, the single-port injector provides up to 33.6 W of power on a single ethernet port, making it suitable for IP telephones, wireless network access points, Blue Tooth access points, access controls, security cameras, IP print servers and biometric sensors.

This device is designed with the protocol required for Cisco AP1250 series access points to run in full-power mode.

The adapter provides fully compliant detection, disconnect and voltage control. It is gigabit compatible and incorporates diagnostic LEDs. Features include overvoltage, overcurrent and short-circuit protection.

In addition, it is a two-finger, Layer 1 classified and is backward compatible with IEEE 802.3af.
