Cardinal Components EnerChip rechargeable solid-state batteries

Cardinal Components now offers EnerChip rechargeable solid-state batteries (SSBs), with integrated power management in a single chip.

SSBs are a component packaged battery available in a surface-mount technology package that can be used like any SMT device with lead-free reflow tolerance and automated pick-and-place compatibility. They eliminate the need for coin-cell holders or leaky super-caps and provide easy primary or back-up power.

Good recharge performance enables SSBs to achieve thousands of charge-discharge cycles while maintaining low self-discharge and fast recharge times. They can be used as a permanent power solution in a variety of applications and systems, are environmentally friendly and RoHS, Reach and WEE compliant.

SSBs are suitable for many industries, including process control, mobile, medical, military, energy metering, security, building controls, telecommunications and wireless sensors. They are particularly suitable for the energy harvesting power market, using ambient energy sources such as light, vibration, motion, thermal gradients, air and fluid flow and RF induction.
