B&K Precision XLN series of DC power supplies

Thursday, 22 April, 2010 | Supplied by: Unispan Instruments Pty Ltd

The B&K Precision XLN series of DC power supplies provides up to 1440 W of power in a 1U, full-rack case for rack mounting in an ATE environment or for benchtop use.

There are four base models with various output voltage and current selections and optional GPIB/LAN interface. Application software allows remote control capability without the need for computer programming.

The compact size and high-power density with processing times below 50 ms allow integration into test systems, while front to rear airflow circumvents interference with other mounted devices.

Benchtop users can interact with a full keypad and rotary encoder knob for easy interface and precise voltage and current adjustments. The additional list mode feature allows creation of up to 150-step test sequences, executed from internal memory.

All four base models use standard USB and RS485 interfaces with SCPI protocol. Optional GPIB and LAN interfaces are available that include a built-in web server, allowing control of basic power supply settings through a web browser. The master and slave mode simplifies configuration and control of several power supplies connected in series and parallel while using the RS485 interface for synchronisation.

With clean power, low ripple and low noise they are suitable for rigorous test situations, ie, product design and development, product QC and burn-in testing, production. Each unit includes protection design for safe interfacing with any unit under test.

The DC power supplies have a wide range of AC input voltages for use in any region.
