GS Yuasa has released a standby power battery that has been specifically designed to survive in high temperature applications.

Typically, when standby batteries are installed in high ambient temperatures they suffer a significant reduction in life. Average ambient temperatures in Australia can range between 25°C in coastal cities to over 40°C in parts of central Australia. The design of the GS Yuasa PWL battery has increased the performance life that can be expected from batteries used in such high temperature environments.

US field trials have established the PWL battery's performance in harsh environmental conditions with the battery being subject to maximum temperatures of over 50°C during the three-year trial period.
