C&D Technologies has added three non-isolated NFA series DC-DC converters to its Volant family of point-of-load devices.
The converters have a minimal size and footprint making them suitable for high-density applications. Offered in 10, 16 and 20 A models, they have efficiencies of up to 95%.
The 20 A model has a pin-out and package, while the 10 and 16 A models are Distributed-power Open Standards Alliance compatible. With an extended input voltage range of 6 to 14, the series supports 4:1, 5:1 and 6:1 intermediate bus converters, intermediate bus architecture applications and is output voltage programmable by an external resistor.
Available in positive and negative enable logic models, the series has monotonic start-up with pre-bias and an optional power good signal. For system level power-up, the series has a sequence feature for voltage turn-on/off tracking.
This enables designers to control voltage rails to start up in a sequential manner without the need for external circuitry.
