Mean Well has introduced the 75 W miniature AC/DC enclosed type power supply - HRP-75 series, to comply with the trend in energy saving and low energy-consumption demands.

Featuring low no-load power consumption, high operating efficiency and miniaturisation, the series reduces the size by 17.9% compared with the first generation of PFC model SP-75 (75 W) and increases the working efficiency by 9-11%. Anti-vibration can also be upgraded from 2 to 5 g.

The series is designed for fitting a 1U low-profile (38 mm) rack chassis. Possessing up to 89% of high efficiency, it can be cooled by free air convection from -30 to +70 °C.

The units can fulfil the requirement of EN61000-3-2 for harmonic current and also withstand 300 VAC input surge for 5 s, which can reduce the damage caused by unstable AC mains. Other standard functions include remote on/off control, protection for short circuit, overload (constant current mode), overvoltage and overtemperature (optional).

In addition, the series has low no-load power consumption (<0.5 W), which allows the designers to conform to the requirements of Energy Star and EuP norm for end systems.
