Magellan Power Solar Smoother Horizon Power Class 1, 2 and 3
Passing clouds interrupt the generation of solar power, which causes problems for weak grids by effectively and suddenly dumping power loads on to the grid. This has forced some grid operators to place restrictions on the amount of solar PV allowed to be installed.
Using battery power, Magellan Power’s Solar Smoother enables a smooth transition between PV power and the grid, allowing the grid time to respond to a reduction in solar generation. Featuring smart industrial design, the unit is easy to install and complies with Horizon Power generation management requirements.
The Australian-made product includes a 5 kW (nominal) single-phase hybrid inverter, 48 V maintenance-free lithium battery pluggable modules, a test push-button, a UPS feature, an LCD display and an energy monitoring app. It has a low-power option during heavy cloud conditions.
