Agilent Technologies has introduced the U8000 Series single-output, non-programmable DC power supplies, a low-cost expansion of the Agilent E3600 Series.

The DC power supplies offer features that are typical only in costly programmable models. With power ranging from 90–150 W, the supplies are suitable for a variety of electronics-manufacturing applications and provide reliable, affordable power for educational uses.

The series offers integrated overvoltage and overcurrent protection features that provide comprehensive damage prevention for devices-under-test. During test set-up, users can save and recall up to three memory states, minimising manual errors and increasing efficiency. The series also offers excellent load and line regulation, fast transient response and low output noise.

The series also includes security features uncommon in standard power supplies. One example is a keypad lock, which prevents measurement errors due to accidental or unauthorised front-panel use. Another is a physical lock mechanism that secures instrument storage and is especially useful on manufacturing floors and in education labs.
