Murata Power Solutions has introduced a family of AC/DC front-end power supplies that delivers bulk power with efficiency of up to 90.9% and high power density up to 17.9 W/in.
The units are suitable for servers, network equipment and other distributed power architecture applications.
The D1U4-W series is housed in a 1U low-profile package with output power of 1600 W (220 VAC) or 1200 W (110 VAC) and main output voltages of 12 V.
The series has active power factor correction with active current sharing on its main output. Integrated O-ring FETs support N+1 operation including hot docking.
In addition to the main output, standby outputs of either 3.3 or 5 V that give up to 20 W of standby power are provided to support system housekeeping and monitoring requirements.
Protection features include auto-recovery from both over-current and overtemperature faults. Status information is provided via front panel LEDs, logic signals and an I2C management interface.
