Powerware and Lightning Protection International, join forces

Monday, 19 April, 2004

Invensys Powerware has partnered with Lightning Protection International to distribute the latter's range of Guardian CAT (Controlled Area Triggering) series Air Terminals, LPI Surge and Transient protection products for data, communication and signal lines, and LPI grounding products throughout Australian and New Zealand.

The LPI Guardian System 5 provides a safe and efficient system that protects facilities against direct lightning strikes. The LPI CAT terminal attracts the lightning to a preferred point and the energy is transferred to group via High Voltage Shielded Cable.

The LPI product lines will complement Powerware's own range of power protection products , including its locally manufactured power and data surge filters. Powerware uses a 'Four Step approach' to provide complete protection against lightning and surges. This system design approach includes: definition and provision of area protection; creation of a bonded earthing system; protection of power lines; and protection of signal, data and communication lines.
