Digital multimeters offered to qualifying education programs

Thursday, 15 November, 2007

Fluke Australia has announced that it will donate new high-performance logging digital multimeters to educational institutions through its education grant program.

The company is offering two of its 287 True-rms Electronics Logging Multimeters and two 289 True-rms Industrial Logging Multimeters to each of 20 qualifying educational institutions.

The grant is designed to help ensure educators, students and entry-level professionals have access to state-of-the-art technology. The program lets instructors in accredited programs apply for grants of the Fluke 287 and the 289.

These can then be used for training students in electronics test and design performance verification applications or to teach students to diagnose problems in electronics, plant automation, power distribution and electromechanical equipment.

Members of the Fluke Education Partnership program can apply for the grant by completing an application form available on the Fluke Education Partnership website. The web-based program offers educators in technical, university and apprenticeship programs free materials and discounts on all Fluke handheld test tools.

The deadline for applications is 29 February 2008. Applications will be reviewed by a committee from the company for program elements, including breadth of course offering, degree/certification qualifications and statistics, and plans for using the Fluke digital multimeters within the curriculum.

The 20 winning institutions will be announced in April 2008. For more information, visit Fluke Australia.
