Finisar has introduced the 52TR series 40G transponders for client-side applications.

Available in an ultra-compact 300-pin MSA-compliant module, the device provides low power dissipation and a small mechanical footprint.

The transponder is designed for carriers continually upgrading switching and routing equipment to meet growing internet traffic. The series features: support for OC-768, STM-256, G.709 and OTU3 optical networking standards; OIF SFI-5 compliant electrical interface; built-in Mux/Demux functionality; non-return to zero transmission from 39.8 to 44.5 Gbps; pin-for-pin-compatibility with 40G 300-pin MSA standard modules.

Equipped with monitoring and control functions, the series supports numerous clocking modes and complies with the most recent updates to STM-256/ITU rec G.8251 jitter standards.
