Dielectric Laboratories 0302 size EW series gain equalisers

The 0302 size EW series gain equalisers, from Dielectric Laboratories, provide slope correction of greater than 3 dB from DC to 18 GHz. Designed for repeatable microwave performance to compensate for gain roll-off and VSWR mismatch losses, the gain equalisers are a suitable match to a 50 Ω line width for optimal broadband performance.

Six slopes are available and are footprint interchangeable for optimising module gain flatness from 1 to 3.5 dB. Solderable terminations are compatible with solder SMT and conductive epoxy assembly, as well as pick-and-place equipment. No ground connection is required. They are available in tape and reel packaging for high-volume applications.

The gain equalisers employ monolithic construction with a precision thin-film conductor and resistor films together with high dielectric constant ceramics for good RF performance repeatability. Integrated R and C values are realised to produce the desired gain slope. Applications include broadband microwave modules; electronic warfare, electronic countermeasures (ECM) and electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM); and as a compensation circuit to correct for loss slope created by other circuit elements, such as amplifiers.
