The EtherScope network assistant is a next generation handheld analyser designed to aid the rapid installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of 10/100/gigabit enterprise networks.

EtherScope's Nearest Switch utility eliminates navigation obstacles when connecting into the network to diagnose user issues. EtherScope automatically determines the nearest switch, interface and VLAN for each discovered device, making it easy to resolve issues and track configuration changes.

The simple, high-resolution full colour touchscreen display allows users to clearly monitor key devices and identify vital network statistics including protocol mix, top senders, top broadcasters and error sources. EtherScope uses full-duplex 10/100 Gigabit copper ethernet testing. The unit displays real-time diagnostic results of devices, networks and problems. Duplicate IP addresses are pinpointed, along with network misconfigurations, frame errors, autonegotiation failures, high use segments and cable problems. Up to 1000 devices can be discovered, viewed and stored in the onboard database.

EtherScope is a Linux-based device. It supports web-based access and control for remote network testing. Onboard utilities for convenient field troubleshooting include Key Device Ping/Monitor, TraceRoute, Trace SwitchRoute, IP Ping, FTP, Telnet and Web Browser.
