Monday, 14 October, 2013 | Supplied by: Durst Motor & Electric Industries Pty Ltd

General Technologies’ MM-TA500 is a multisystem ignition analyser suitable for automobile, industrial, aviation, agricultural and marine applications. The simple-to-use tachometer requires no special adapters, cables or a scope.

The analyser allows the user to perform fast, consistent diagnostics of non-starts, misfires, damaged spark plugs and/or spark-plug wires, by comparing digital read-outs of the spark-plug voltage and spark burn time between cylinders on engines using coil on plug, coil near plug, conventional distributor/ignition coil, distributorless (DIS) or waste spark and magneto technologies.

It is equipped with a large digital display that shows spark-plug voltage, spark burn time, RPM, as well as minimum and maximum readings in real time.

Features include large LCD, RPM measurement from 200 to 19,999 RPM, spark burn range from 0 to 10.0 mS and spark KV from 0 to 50 KV. Its flexible probe extends to 30 cm long, with a capacitive sensor and power-saving mode which automatically shuts off after 3 min. It includes 9 V alkaline battery, user manual and hard carrying storage case.
