Yokogawa's 30031 clamp-on leakage current tester is capable of measuring currents down to 1 mA with a resolution of 0.001 mA, making it suitable for checking the insulation of low-voltage circuit and electrical components.
It can be used as an adjunct to portable appliance testers not fitted with a leakage current function to enable testing to AS/NZS 3760-2003 requirements for performing current leakage tests in appliances - such as office equipment, computers and power tools - which, unless connected to the mains, cannot have the electrically active part switched to the 'on' state.
The tester uses an electrical compensation circuit that corrects for any mechanical or assembly variations in the clamp sensor and reduces the influence of external magnetic fields to a fifth that of conventional leakage current clamps.
The 30031 has ranges of 3 and 30 mA plus 30 and 60 A with an accuracy of 1% +5 counts from 0-50 A, a jaw opening of 40 mm and conforms to EN61010-1 and EN61010-2-032 (CAT III 300V, pollution degree 2).
