Agilent Technologies has expanded its digital-storage oscilloscope range with six models that comprise its next-generation 1000 series.

The scopes offer bandwidths between 60 and 200 MHz and deliver features normally found on more expensive scopes.

They are available with two or four channels and each is supplied in a package that is 13 cm deep and weighs less than 3.1 kg.

The DSO1000A series can handle a broad range of debugging and test needs.

All are equipped with a bright LCD that offers a sharper image and is visible from a wide viewing angle. They have up to 20 kpts of memory per channel; they can display 23 automatic measurements - up to 21 simultaneously - including measurements from a built-in six-digit counter. They also have a sequence mode capability to help find elusive problems. Engineers can record and replay up to 1000 occurrences of a trigger for identification of glitches and other anomalies. A suite of DSP filters to help users focus on the most relevant spectral content of signals is available.

The series is supplied with go/no-go mask testing, allowing inexperienced users to perform precise parametric tests. The user interface and front-panel labels are available in 11 languages.

USB connections and IntuiLink connectivity software (standard features) make it possible to share and document measurement results. An optional training kit teaches essential skills under 2 h.
