Semaphore has released its T-Box WM wireless monitor that can provide cost savings of up to 50% over other SCADA monitors.

Ultra-low power draw allows use of a lithium battery and the monitor normally uses a single battery and an optional second battery for high reliability.

Standard hardware also reduces interfacing costs with instruments for measurement of flow, level and pressure.

Since the device can provide power to analog transmitters on 4-20 mA current loops, separate hardware for DC/DC conversion or input multiplexing is not required.

A broad selection of wireless communications devices ensures that all remote sites can be reached without the need for integration of external hardware. Using push messaging via email, text or IP communications, the monitor best uses inexpensive public networks and informs multiple recipients of alarms, live conditions and historical data logs.

It is compatible with the company’s T-Box family of controller and RTU products. T-Box is said to be the first IP-based telemetry solution that enables the integration of SCADA, control and communications functionality in one package. It uses web technologies and inexpensive public networks for decentralised monitoring and control systems.
