The 3U RAK-380X chassis has been designed for server applications with large storage requirements.

It provides 12 3.5" swappable IDE drive bays, two 2.5" internal drive bays and slimline FDD and CD-ROM drive bays.

The chassis supports a range of motherboards including dual Xeon, PIII and single PIII/P4 ATX motherboards up to 12 x 13" footprint.

It is supplied with a single 460 WAC power supply. It can also be supplied with optional 460 WAC redundant power supplies.

In addition to the standard power supply exhaust fan, the chassis provides four 9 cm 51 cfm cooling fans and one rear mounted 6 cm 23.5 cfm exhaust fan to ensure the drive bays, motherboard processors and expansion cards are well ventilated.

The RAK-380's 3U rack height provides reduced space while allowing full height add-in cards to be inserted without the use of a riser card. This means that all motherboard slots can be used for system expansion.
