Tektronix has released a handheld MPEG test tool that provides a portable first line of defence in analysing MPEG-2 transport stream formats.

The AD920 is a battery-powered unit that reduces downtime, provides faster installation time, and quickly identifies faults.

It can be used to help ensure quality and reliability in networks that distribute video, audio, and data in digital formats, including DVB and ATSC formats.

The AD920 is claimed to be the only device on the market to test MPEG-2, DVB and ATSC streams via SMPTE 301M and ASI interfaces. Additionally, the AD920 can analyse a transport stream at up to 100 Mbps.
