Static transfer switch

Friday, 11 January, 2008 | Supplied by: Static Power Pty Ltd

The model B1 is a small, rackmounted static transfer switch, with the reliability and high fault capacity of solid-state thyristor switching compared with relay-based transfer switches.

The switch provides uninterrupted power to critical equipment by automatically switching between two independent power sources if a problem is detected.

To avoid the dangers of paralleling power sources, all switching is break-before-make and is completed transparently to the critical load, ensuring no disruption. The switch is available in 10, 15, 20, 25 and 32 A ratings.

The bi-colour LED mimic provides instant recognition of STS state, while the backlit LCD provides real-time information including supply variables, power quality, event log, use history and set-up information.

The unit has five voltage-free contacts and three remote inputs.

A Modbus and a web browser are available for more advanced monitoring. Setting of all STS parameters is achieved using the web browser interface.
