OKW SYNERGY Round and Oval extruded enclosures

OKW has added Round and Oval models to its range of SYNERGY electronic enclosures. The range offers 36 enclosures in four types — Round, Oval, Square and Edge (rectangular). Applications include medical and therapeutic systems, measurement and control technology, home automation, peripherals and building services electronics.

The enclosures feature OKW’s fast-connect system, which is based around four internal assembly pillars that hold each enclosure together. The glass-reinforced polyamide pillars snap in to the recessed top panel, locate the assembly extrusion and are fixed to the bottom part with four stainless steel screws. Several pillars can be snapped together to create custom heights in 5 mm increments (on request).

The main body section of each case is extruded from AlMgSi 0.5 aluminium. It is blasted with glass beads and anodised in silver or black to create a high-quality finish.

The top and base sections are manufactured from UV-resistant ASA+PC-FR. PCBs can be mounted in the top and bottom. Cables of up to 3 mm can be routed out of the bottom section. There is plenty of space for interfaces on the other surfaces.

Round and Square models are offered in three plan sizes — 100 x 100, 120 x 120 and 140 x 140 mm — in heights of 40, 70 or 100 mm. Oval and Edge models are also available in three plan sizes — 160 x 80, 180 x 90 and 200 x 100 mm — in 40, 70 or 100 mm heights.

Accessories include battery compartments for three or four 1.5 V AA cells; an extender kit for the PCB pillars; and a suspension kit that enables SYNERGY to be wall mounted with only one screw. Customisation services include CNC milling and drilling, printing or engraving of legends and logos, special finishes and keypads.
