Analog Devices AD9680-1000EBZ evaluation board for ADC
Analog Devices has introduced an evaluation board for the AD9680, the AD9680-1000EBZ. The AD9680 is a dual 14‑bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with good noise and dynamic range performance. The board allows developers to quickly evaluate the features and performance of the ADC.
The evaluation board allows developers to quickly connect to the ADC. A low-jitter, low broadband noise signal is fed to the analog signal input of the board. The digital output of the ADC is connected to an Analog Devices ADS7-V1EBZ Data Capture Board.
The ADC is configured by an SPI interface, which is available on the evaluation board and allows programming options including power down modes, input buffer termination impedance, selecting the internal or external voltage references, enabling the internal temperature sensor and configuring the JESD204B interface. SPI programming in an evaluation environment is accomplished using the Analog Devices SPI Control Software.
Both boards are configured using Analog Devices’ VisualAnalog software. Once connected, the data capture board automatically recognises the AD9680-1000EBZ board and begins to program the data capture board with the appropriate code to evaluate the ADC.
