Lattice Semiconductor MachXO3-9400 development board

The MachXO3-9400 development board, from Lattice Semiconductor, features an onboard programmable logic device and hardware management expander to help engineers prototype designs for the server, communications, industrial and display markets.

The development board allows designers to investigate and experiment with the features of the MachXO3 complex programmable logic device (CPLD) and the L-ASC1 hardware management expander. The onboard MachXO3LF-9400 device offers expanded input/output (I/O) and logic support for control PLD applications, while increased on-chip memory improves picture clarity for video bridging in large monitor applications.

The device features 9400 look-up tables (LUTs) for programmable logic and 432 Kb of embedded block RAM. It also offers distributed RAM, phase-locked loops (PLLs), advanced configuration support and User Flash Memory support. These features allow designers to use the device in high-volume consumer and system applications.

Along with the MachXO3LF-9400 CPLD, the development board also features an L-ASC10 (L-Analog Sense and Control 10 rails) device to enable designers to easily evaluate hardware management design and expand the usability of the MachXO3LF-9400 with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Lattice Versa and Aardvark headers. The L-ASC10 enables seamless scaling of power supply voltage and current monitoring, temperature monitoring, sequence and margin control channels. The device includes dedicated interfaces that support the exchange of monitor signal status and output control signals with centralised hardware management controllers.
