Singapore’s A*Star has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airbus at the 3rd Aerospace Technology Leadership Forum.

The MoU will facilitate collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including data analytics. A*Star’s extensive capabilities in data analytics solutions can be used for a wide array of applications, including more accurate prediction of flight arrival times to reduce passenger delays, which will translate to significant savings for the aviation industry.

Airbus plans to channel the power of big data analytics for faster development of incremental innovations for the company’s aircraft and services, said Axel Krein, Airbus SVP Research & Technology. “Using the very latest developments in this exciting new technology field, we expect to be able to offer our customers new ways to reduce their fuel consumption through speedier, more effective analysis of their operational data.”
