Battery breakthrough on exhibition

Saturday, 14 July, 2012

Replacing carbon with specially structured silicon as the anode in lithium-ion batteries, is a technique that will be shown at a special exhibition in London as part of ’Make it in Great Britain Challenge’.

The event, at the Science Museum, is a national competition to find the most promising and cutting-edge British innovations and is designed to transform the image of manufacturing in Britain.

The battery technology has been developed by Nexeon that claims its development can produce performance benefits in powering a range of consumer devices and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles.

The exhibition is open until 9 September and visitors can vote on the entry that impresses them most.
