Connected hospital for Vietnam

Friday, 15 October, 2010

Cisco and Hong Ngoc hospital in Vietnam have collaborated to make the hospital the first private hospital in Vietnam to commit to a technologically advanced health care system.

With the implementation of Cisco Unified IP phones over the foundation of a medical-grade network, this collaboration allows a range of complex information to flow within the hospital while maximising resource use and increasing business agility.

The hospital provides health care with more than 300 staff, of which 60 doctors have postgraduate qualifications in 30 different specialties, and nurses with qualifications and experience in Vietnam and overseas.

The hospital wished to improve the quality of patient care and staff efficiency while reducing capital and operational costs.

The new system provides highly secure access to patient medical records, including lab reports, imaging documents and other resources regardless of staff location.

Most importantly, Cisco connected solutions meet the needs of business.

The hospital receives about 400 patients for diagnostic care per day and is the first to deploy end-to-end information technology infrastructure solutions, including routers, switches, security, wireless and internet protocol phones.
