Data centre collaboration

Wednesday, 24 June, 2009

NetApp and Cisco are collaborating to provide users with unified, dynamic data centre solutions that are based on Cisco's Unified Computing System and NetApp's Unified Storage Architecture.

The Cisco system unites compute, network, storage access and virtualisation resources in a data centre architecture, allowing users to reduce the complexities often associated with data centre virtualisation, lower costs and improve asset use.

Through validated design, NetApp will provide flexible storage for the unified computing system that will be tested for interoperability in virtualised data centre environments.

The company will also collaborate on joint marketing efforts such as the multi-city 'Virtualised Dynamic Data Centre Roadshow' with VMware and other select solution integration partners.

NetApp will also participate in Cisco's Data Center of the Future program.

Both of these will focus on educating users about NetApp and Cisco data centre offerings.
